Our residents receive many benefits that allow them to take advantage of special educational events and conferences, bond with one another and enjoy living in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. - PL-1 $75,876
- PL-2 $80,452
- PL-3 $85,086
Salary is determined by the resident union contract, and we will update this information as soon as it is available.
Additional Annual Financial Benefits
- New resident relocation bonus: $1,000 for PL-1s
- 401K: Up to 15 percent of salary; CNH matches up to 5 percent of salary during PL-2 and PL-3
- Stipend for lab coats and scrubs: $115 for PL-1s, $95 for both PL-2s and PL-3s
- Stipend for transportation to cover transportation home when unsafe to drive or transportation between work sites: $325 annually
- Discounted on-site parking
- Group life insurance, health insurance, dental plan and vision plan
- Coverage for spouses (applies to same and opposite sex marriages) and parental leave (applies to same and opposite sex parents)
Wellness Benefits
Free Opt-Out Residency Psychologist Program
Residents are offered free individual psychology visits with our residency program psychologist, who is familiar with the personal and professional challenges of residency.
Employee Assistance Program
All Children’s National Hospital employees can talk confidentially with a behavioral health professional about a wide range of personal matters in a confidential manner at no cost.
George Washington Psychiatry
Residents have access to five free and confidential sessions with GW psychiatrists. Appointments are flexible and designed to fit a resident’s busy schedule.
Peer Support Program
All Children’s National Hospital employees can initiate a peer support referral for themselves or for someone else if they have experienced emotional trauma or stress related to their clinical roles.
Scheduled Debriefs for Each Inpatient Rotation
Additional debriefs for teams and individuals are also arranged on an as-needed basis.
