Biography
Lisa Mercado-Foster was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania (near Penn State) and currently lives in Maryland. She has a cosmetology license from Dudley Beauty College. Her career at Children’s National Hospital spans 20 years and she has worked in several areas: Child and Adolescent Protection Center, Mobile Van and the Pulmonary Department. For the last 15 years, she has worked with the Pediatric Residency Program and she currently serves as their program coordinator lead.
Lisa served as an advocate for a teenage girl for 12 years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She serves on the Coordinator Communication Work group for the Association of Pediatric Program Directors; the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Non-Clinical Staff Mentorship Program at Children's National; and the DEIAB Committee for CASA, Anne Arundel County.

Carolyn Francis has been with Children’s National Hospital for 13 years helping the anesthesia and radiology residents and fellows with their rotations. She loves the energy that she receives when working with the trainees.
Carolyn enjoys nature, cooking and spending time with family and friends, and taking care of her hummingbirds in the summer when they come to visit. She looks forward to many rewarding years working with the Residency Program team and is truly grateful.
