The Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) fellows' research curriculum is an important part of training. During training, fellows become adept at understanding published research and at conducting their own research. The scholarly rigor and attention to logistical detail required to complete a research project will provide valuable training that will carry over into other areas of professional development. The ability to identify outcomes and measure the success of interventions is important not only for publishable research projects, but also administrative decisions, quality improvement projects and medical education. Importantly, this curriculum is an interactive model of training, which means that your input and participation are a must for its success and your success.
